Alternative Secondary Containment

Most of the new legislative requirements mandate that a diked and impervious lined area around the tanks must contain up to 110 % of the largest tank capacity. However, the occurrences of catastrophic failures with the release of 100% storage capacity are extremely rare. The new approach will reduce the secondary containment requirements. In order to accomplish this task, the ASC system was designed which is capable of safely containment a liquid release from the tank shell or any connected valving, while providing fast and reliable detection of the leckage. This will allow the owner/operator of an AST to respond immediately and in a knowledgeable manner to an alarm and thus avoid growth of the leak and contamination of soil and water.
